Just a short while ago, Jason left for another work trip. This is not unusual.
But where was he going? Not the usual places. Not even someplace in the United States. No no.
He went to Jamaica.
JAMAICA.
Montego Bay, Jamaica, where it is currently hovering between 75 and 80 degrees. Here in Massachusetts, it is 19 degrees and snowing like crazy. That's up from the 1 degree day we had last week. I guess Mother Nature was feeling charitable.
Don't get me wrong. I love winter weather and don't tend to get tired of it the way other people do. But I could use a tropical vacation right now, especially since I never really got a break at Christmas because I had to work during my trip to Michigan.
Sigh. Someday Jason and I will take a proper vacation. Like maybe when we are old and retired.

Oh my gosh - Jamaica?!
Mister gets to go to Toronto every month or so, and that makes me jealous enough. That's crazy! I want in on whatever industry that is!
You should have gone with him!
On the other hand, Jamaica sucks. Wait till he goes somewhere better like the Caymans or the BVI.
Oh that sucks! It's cold and snowing and crappy here in Wisconsin too. Last week it was -30 before the windchill: BRRRRR!
I'd totally take Jamaica.
Any chance you'll get to go with next time?
Kyla - I love Toronto! Even in the winter. :)
Cary - Is that a picture of you? We talked about me going with for a few minutes, but weren't sure how long he would have to stay or if I would be able to do my work down there. Plus there'd be nobody to do kitty insulin. We'd rather have a real vacation anyway. When he was in the Navy his carrier stopped in Antigua and St. Maarten, and his squadron would occasionally go down to a base in Key West. Of course, I can't go on the Navy trips.
TC - There won't be a next time, not with this job anyway. His last day is next week, then he's going back into the Navy. Such is life!
Wow that is quite a trip. I would not be thrilled that he's going to such lovely weather when you're back in snow. But, it is for work.....
Wait, what kind of work does he have to do while he's there? Sounds like a pretty sweet job no matter what..
He's an assassin.
No, wait... that's not right.
He's a field service technician for a company that manufactures security equipment used at airports.
