There's nothing like a public shaming to motivate a fatty.

So remember how I said before that I was fat? And how at the beginning of this year I was still fat?

Well, you're never going to believe it, but:

So yeah. I've started doing the 30-Day Shred, and I got myself a jump rope and some hand weights.

Here's the thing: I know that I'm not going to stop making and eating the foods that I like. I made chocolate chip scones for breakfast this morning and they were amazing. Dieting is not for me. Life is too short to not allow yourself to enjoy food!

That said, I've gained at least ten pounds since Christmas and I am officially the fattest I have ever been. I haven't seen the underside of 200 since December.

Something has to give, and if I'm not going to stop with the food, then I need to start with the exercise. And I'll be honest: I don't exercise. At all. Until now, I hadn't made any concerted effort to work out since we moved to California a year ago.

It's gross, I know. I'm creeping up on 30, and I do not want to start that decade of my life the way I've spent my twentysomething decade: fat and sedentary.

When I met Jason in 2005, I weighed in the 160s. I felt comfortable in my body. I wasn't embarrassed to wear a bathing suit in public. I'd like to feel that way again.

Can I get there? I don't know. But I sure as hell am going to try.

Yooooooouu are too cute. I hope you dance like that every day, even when you're not making a video of it.

I'm also the chubbiest I've ever been, and have TWO(2) weddings to go this August. I'm trying to make those my motivation to cut the crap and go for a run, but... you know how it goes.

OK...first things first...I am totally supportive of you making a lifestyle decision so you can be happy and healthy! So I say, Go girl! If you want to do it, I'm behind you!

Second...that has to be the cutest video I've ever seen, and I love it!

You are too gorgeous and funny! I love it!

So, even if you don't lose a pound (which I think you will...you're a strong-minded woman) I think you're awesome! I love your video dance, and I love that you gave us an honest glance at your fun-loving self!

You can DO IT!!! The 30 Day Shred is a great work out, and once you complete all three levels, check out her No More Trouble Zones--it's INCREDIBLE! I love your approach to this lifestyle change, and totally believe in you :)

Good for you for starting an exercise routine. I can't wait to hear about it - maybe you will motivate me to drop some lbs as well! Lord knows I need to lose a few. :)

Best of luck!!

The 30 Day Shred is great and having the jump rope and weights is perfect to help you get toned and back in shape. I dno't always change how I eat but I try to log it on Sparkpeople (free) and manage the portions. That is my biggest weakness

I weighed myself this morning and I am heavier than I've been in 5+ years. So I made cinnamon rolls.

Love the video! Surely you lost a few pounds bustin' your move like that!

I love this!
I wish you all the luck with the Shred. Jillian is my arch enemy and I didn't make it through three viewings of that DVD. It's tough stuff! Plus I'm really bad at working out at home.

You are absolutely right...life is too short to deny yourself the things you love. Eating healthy is all about moderation anyway.

OMG! I just found you from Salt's blog. You are so adorable! I have also just come to the realization that I am the heaviest I have ever been. I can't work out at home though because it is too easy for me to give up. I actually have the hubs working out with me now at the gym.
I love your dance! I seriously big puffy heart you and am now a follower!
